Latin Fusion
Samstag 25. August 2012

Quemando Palabras is a musical-poetry collective leaded by the singer-percussionist Juan Pino, working and travelling between Copenhagen Denmark and Quito Ecuador. The word with its message and its power is at the center of the expression, together with the rhythm and groove. Verses are moving through the pulse as flowers are jumping on water stones. The poetry from the Latinamerican streets finds brotherhood with urban rap art, while ancient rhythms play with burning beats.
Juan's father Bruno was a poet in Ecuador, pioneer in the South American street theatre movement. Bruno Pino left alter him a big repertoire of poems about love, passion and the human struggle and hope of the Latin American people... Juan has set music to his father's words in a travel from the Andes' folklore to the urban culture of today's Latin American cities, passing by a more European singer-songwriter tradition. This gave birth to the debut album "Mama America"....
Ménage a Boom (Barcelona)
30's-40's Jazz/Swing
Mittwoch 15. August 2012

Ménage a Boom is a five member, international group of singular composition: a vocal trio of female voices (El Trío Chikiboom) accompanied by double bass and drums. Aude, Anne and Marina's voices unite to fill their repertoire with rich harmonies; Guillem and Oriol add the infectious swing and latin rhythms that incite the audience to dance. Their shows invoke a journey to the United States in the Golden Age of swing with some exotic latin stopovers in the Caribbean, continually surprising with contrasting spicy cheekiness and subtle, intelligent humor. The audience won't be unaffected by their dynamic energy, charm and retro glamour, but most importantly, they will enjoy a quality musical performance with original, unpublished arrangements.

Zwei dem Fälensee entwischte
Sirenen hatten genug davon
amerikanische Nacktwanderer in den Tod
zu bezirzen und erpressten sie dafür um ihre
Folkslieder. Hier und da tauchen
sie nun in fremden Städten auf und
versprühen ihr süsses Gift - Valium Country und
Doomgrass vom feinsten.
