Quemando Palabras is a musical-poetry collective leaded by the singer-percussionist Juan Pino, working and travelling between Copenhagen Denmark and Quito Ecuador. The word with its message and its power is at the center of the expression, together with the rhythm and groove. Verses are moving through the pulse as flowers are jumping on water stones. The poetry from the Latinamerican streets finds brotherhood with urban rap art, while ancient rhythms play with burning beats.
Juan's father Bruno was a poet in Ecuador, pioneer in the South American street theatre movement. Bruno Pino left alter him a big repertoire of poems about love, passion and the human struggle and hope of the Latin American people... Juan has set music to his father's words in a travel from the Andes' folklore to the urban culture of today's Latin American cities, passing by a more European singer-songwriter tradition. This gave birth to the debut album "Mama America"....
